Today is Poetry Wednesday at The Write Prompts, and the assigned form is haiku. I decided I could manage haiku this morning — just seventeen syllables (if you disregard the finer points of the form, which I did.)
the winter wind howls
down the valley as it leaves
toothmarks on my neck

I love the simplicity of haiku. It allows for a little bit of creativity in the writer without the reader realizing how much effort went into writing. Thank you for using a WP prompt and linking. Happy writing!
I’m always happy to give credit when others inspire me, and I take secret joy in the thought that other writers also find inspiration from the same source. Thank you so much for reading and commenting!
